| What began as my altruistic mother taking annual trips to Indian orphanages with soaps, towels, and food in hand inspired me to create Soham For Kids which will work in partnership with Hope Foundation, to help orphans and poor children in Hyderabad, India. We want them to attain a well rounded education, proper nutrition, and generally want to foster a healthy environment for them to develop mentally, physically, and spiritually. Last May (May 2009), members of the Soham team visited various orphanages in India to help distribute some necessities to make life a bit easier for impoverished orphans living in India. In this process, it was evident that there was a lack of adequate resources necessary for the healthy and successful upbringing for many orphaned children. The team was made aware of the urgent and serious need for the proper establishment of a school and housing for numerous impoverished children, and was immediately motivated to take action. Here at Soham, we strive to attend to areas overlooked by many - such as nutrition, a well rounded education, and teaching the skills that are necessary to prepare for life after school. Just as it only took only one mother to inspire an organization, the help from one individual can improve the well-being of a child in need.
